1266RESOLUTION NO. 1266
MIEREAS, there now exists a timber bridge
owned by the Missouri Pacific Re.ilway Com-
pany, crossing over
East 6th and Bond Streets, diagonally, in the City of Little
Rock, and
ZVHE; -IEAS, Resolution 17o. 1238 was ?dopted by the
City Council of the City of Little Rock, July 7th, 1930,
directing said. Railway Compe.ny to i- ...ediately begin r:ork upon
the construction of a steel or concrete bridge to replace said
wooden structure,and
WHEREAS, there was recited in said Resolution
certain conditions both hazardous and extremely dangerous to
motor and pedestrian traffic and nor. the elei:lent of passage of
Fire vrotecticn appa.,ra.tus has become an issue, and
WHEREAS, conditions recited ins aid Resolution
have gradually grown worse until there is constant clamor from
the entire populace residing in that part of this City that
i,M-7edia,te action be ta=ken to have said bridge and -.11 hazards
and impediments to traffic re=moved, drainage taken care of,
etc., and
:'.'HE:_rZ.EAS, the City Engineer, +.H. �`arak, has
stated in writing that said bridge is extremely hazardous and
dangerous to street traffic and impossible for use of fire
equipment;
THEREFORE, Be it resolved that said wooden viaduct
is dangerous and hazardous to traffic and that the same is there-
fore a nuisance, and the City Clerk be directed and ordered by
this Council to iiimediately forward copies of Resolution Into.
