1280•.."M IV rLESOLUTION NO '" \ lllf�J'G WHEREAS, tha City of Little Rock is staying on a cash basis only through the most economic course and has no surplus funds for any use whatsoever, and WHEREAS, there has been and is now great agitation among the citizenship of the City of Little Rock for a reduction of the util- ity rates to the consumers of this City, and 'NHEREAS, it is the belief that practically all cities of the first class in the State of Arkansas are in the same condition with reference to finances as is the City of Little Rock, and JIEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Little Rock to do all and everything necessgry to protect the inter- ast of the citizens of Little Rock, NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Little Rock that it hereby petition the Governor and Legislature of this State to cause such laws to be enacted so as to create a "Fact Finding" body for the State of Arkansas whose duties it shall be to investigate the utility rates charged in the various cities of Arkansas and deliver any information gathered to the city officials of such cities. And that a charge be made against the different utility companies operating in this State to pay the expense of such commission. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be forward- ed to eahh member of the Legislature from Pulaski County, to the Governor of this State, the Lieutenant Governor and the Speaker of the House of Representatt tes.
