RESOLUTION NO. 13,522
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH REDSTONE CONSTRUCTION GROUP,
5 INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $49,400.00 FOR DEMOLITION AND
6 PLANTING WORK FOR SUCH SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo determined that work in three (3) phases is needed to the parking
10 lot it acquired through the sale of the City's portion of Ray Winder Field, which will involve: 1) re-
11 placement of the old, cracked asphalt, sidewalk, and curb and guttering with an environmentally friendly
12 hydroseed base for parking; 2) the installation of fencing and four (4) gates around the perimeter of the
13 parking lot; and 3) the installation of new concrete curbs and gutters and sidewalk; and,
14 WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals was issued separately for the three (3) phases of the work; and,
15 WHEREAS, of the bids received for the demolition of the old asphalt, sidewalk, curbs and gutters
16 and planting of the hydroseed base, Redstone Construction Group, Inc., was the lowest responsive and
17 responsible bidder;
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby awards a contract to Redstone Construction Group, Inc., to
21 provide demolition of an existing asphalt parking lot at the Zoo in the bid amount of Forty-Nine Thou -
22 sand, Four Hundred Dollars ($49,400.00) plus 10% for contingencies if needed, for a total amount not to
23 exceed Fifty -Four Thousand, Three Hundred and Forty Dollars ($54,340.00), and authorizes the City
24 Manager to enter into a contract, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for such services.
25 Section 2. The funds for the contract are to come from the proceeds from the sale of the City's por-
26 tion of Ray Winder Field.
27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju-
29 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and ef-
30 fect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
31 resolution.
32 Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this res-
33 olution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
