RESOLUTION NO. 13,477
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT WITH DORON PRECISION SYSTEMS, INC., FOR
THE PURCHASE OF A DRIVER TRAINING SIMULATOR SYSTEM TO
BE INSTALLED AT THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE TRAINING ACADEMY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Fire Department has historically conducted driver training on in- service
fire apparatus; and
WHEREAS, the addition of a driver training simulator to the training program will allow the Little
Rock Fire Department to provide a scenario based training program in a classroom setting, which will
provide a safer and more cost effective method to train drivers;
WHEREAS, Bid #12,213 was issued for the purchase of a driver training simulator system, and
Doron Precision Systems, Inc., was the only company which was compliant with the listed specifications
and did not have exceptions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Doron Precision
Systems, Inc., for the purchase of a driver training simulator system for the Little Rock Fire Department,
in the total cost of Three Hundred Eighteen Thousand, Two Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ($318,245.00).
Section 3. Funds for this contract will come from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant awarded in the
amount of Two Hundred Sixty -Six Thousand, Eight Hundred Fifty -Nine Dollars ($266,859.00) to the
Little Rock Fire Department by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of
Homeland Security, with a 20% match to be provided by the City of Little Rock.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
Section 5. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
resolution.
