13423I RESOLUTION NO. 13,423 2 3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 EXTEND A CONTRACT WITH NEW FUTURES FOR YOUTH TO 5 PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY, 6 EVALUATION, VIOLENCE PREVENTION, RESEARCH SERVICES, 7 TRANSITION PROGRAM PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT, YIP 8 ASSESSMENT, CENSUS DATA ANALYSIS AND YOUTH 9 DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and 12 youth development programs and services to enhance public safety and community- building, and 13 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark. Res. 13,085 (February 16, 2010) provided for two (2) additional 14 contract terms based on their performance and Little Rock Board of Directors appropriations. This is the 15 second and final extension in the three (3) -year funding cycle ending December 31, 2012. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 17 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the contract with New Futures for Youth, 19 not to exceed $190,000, upon approval of the contract by the City Attorney. 20 Section 2. Funds for this program is from FUTURE -Little Rock tax revenue specified for 21 prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account number S 15T907. 22 Section 3. The term of the contract is from January 3, 2012, to December 31, 2012. 23 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be 24 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 25 resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. Section 5. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
