133791 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 RESOLUTION NO. 13,379 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO RENEW THE CONTRACT FOR DENTAL CARE INSURANCE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES WITH DELTA DENTAL OF ARKANSAS FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL YEARS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Delta Dental of Arkansas has submitted a proposal to renew the existing dental care policy for City Employees for 2012 and 2013; and WHEREAS, the proposal offers a renewal of the current policy for an additional two (2) -year period effective January 1, 2012, with a 6% increase in rates, which is less than the average increase in dental nationwide, in addition to an agreement to an optional employee "buy -up" of coverage; and WHEREAS, Delta Dental of Arkansas has consistently provided the best package of premium rates and coverage and has developed a network of participating dentists which includes almost all providers in Central Arkansas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to renew an agreement with Delta Dental of Arkansas for the years 2012 and 2013 to provide dental insurance coverage for eligible City employees at a 6% increase, in addition to an agreement to an optional employee "buy -up" of coverage. Section 2. Funds for this benefit are included in the budget line items for employee benefits in the forthcoming 2012 Budget projections. Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
