13377I RESOLUTION NO. 13,377 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT OF ARKANSAS 5 TO PROVIDE CURBSIDE RECYCLING FOR CITY OF LITTLE 6 ROCK, ARKANSAS, CUSTOMERS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement with the Pulaski County Regional Solid Waste Man- g agement District ( PCRWWMD) to contract with Waste Management of Arkansas to provide curbside re- 10 cycling for Little Rock citizens for a seven (7) years from May 6, 2003, forward; and, 11 WHEREAS, the City desires to approve a new contract to provide the same recycling service; and, 12 WHEREAS, the PCSWRMD issued a request for proposals on February 18, 2011, and the District 13 has recommended that Waste Management of Arkansas be awarded a contract for a seven (7) -year period; 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 15 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; 16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Waste Management of 17 Arkansas for a period of seven (7) years, beginning upon the adoption of this resolution and execution of 18 the agreement, to provide curbside recycling service to the citizens of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, at 19 a cost per residential customer of $2.07 for Fiscal Year 2012. 20 Section 2. Funds for this contract are available in Account No. 603110- 63390. 21 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 22 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 23 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 24 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 25 resolution. 26 Section 4. Repealer.
