133641 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. 13,364 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO SIGN THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO CONVEY A CONSERVATION EASEMENT TO THE ARKANSAS HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAM FOR PRESERVATION OF THE OLD LITTLE ROCK FIRE STATION NO. 2 IN THE MACARTHUR PARK HISTORIC DISTRICT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Old Little Rock Fire Station No. 2, owned by the City of Little Rock and located at 1201 Commerce Street, is a 1917 Craftsman Style building that is identified as a contributing structure in the MacArthur Park Historic District; and WHEREAS, an effort is underway to preserve existing historic elements of the Old Fire Station and to convert the building into a firehouse hostel and museum that will be certified for participation in an internationally recognized hostel organization; and WHEREAS, the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will provide Thirteen Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($13,500.00) in grant funds for this project in exchange for the conveyance of a conservation easement to protect the historic characteristics of the building's facade; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to restore and protect the historic integrity of the Old Fire Station No. 2 while providing an important museum for the community and low cost accommodations for international travelers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute required documents, in the form and final legal description to be approved by the City Attorney, to grant a conservation easement in certain City property located at 1201 Commerce Street to Arkansas Historic Preservation Program for historic preservation of the Old Little Rock Fire Station No. 2 building fagade. Section 2. The easement property is more particularly described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and [PACE 1 of 31 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
