RESOLUTION NO. 13,320
A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO SOLAR SHADE USA
FOR THE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF A ZOO AMPHITHEATER
SHADE STRUCTURE FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY
FOUR THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED THIRTEEN DOLLARS
($64,213.00); TO AUTHORIZE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH SOLAR SHADE USA FOR SUCH SERVICES; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Little Rock Zoo determined that a need exists for a new shade canopy over
approximately 8,000 square feet of amphitheater seating; and
WHEREAS, the entire shade system must be easily lowered in the event of severe weather; and
WHEREAS, the City competitively bid design and installation services for the required shade
structure; and
WHEREAS, Solar Shade USA submitted the only proposal for this service and is qualified to
perform the work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby awards a contract to Solar Shade USA for the design and
installation of a shade structure over approximately 8,000 square feet of Zoo Amphitheater seating in an
amount not to exceed Sixty Four Thousand, Two Hundred Thirteen Dollars ($64,213.00), with the
contract to be in a form acceptable to the City Attorney.
Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and
effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
resolution.
Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this
resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
