3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY
4 FOR AND ENTER INTO GRANT AGREEMENTS WITH THE
5 ARKANSAS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION FOR
6 COMMUNITY BLOCK GRANT DISASTER FUNDING; AND FOR
7 OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) has invited the City to
10 apply for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for Disaster Recovery funds for a project to
11 provide streetscape enhancements to the area bounded by 12 "', Cedar, Pine and 13`h Streets to aid in urban
12 re- vitalization; and
13 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined it is in the best interest of the City and its
14 inhabitants to apply for a grant from the AEDC;
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The City Manager, or Assistant City Manager, as a Signatory Agent or the successor of
18 said Agent, is hereby authorized and directed to make application for assistance under the CDBG Grant
19 Program administered by AEDC and to execute agreements and instruments issued or made pursuant
20 thereto on behalf of the City from time to time.
21 Section 2. The City hereby pledges its full support for the project authorizes the City Manager to
22 initiate the actions needed to fully implement this project.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
24 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
27 resolution.
28 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
29 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
30 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
