3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE ARKANSAS MUSEUM OF
4 DISCOVERY BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO ELECT MS. GERTRUDE
5 CLARK AS AN HONORARY LIFE MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF
6 TRUSTEES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark. Rev. Code ( "LRC ") §22 -136 (1988) provides that the Arkansas
9 Museum of Discovery Board of Trustees may elect honorary life members with the consent and approval
10 of the Little Rock Board of Directors; and
11 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has been advised that the Board of Trustees wishes to elect Ms.
12 Gertrude Clark as an honorary life member; and
13 WHEREAS, Ms. Clark has made significant contributions to the success of the Arkansas Museum of
14 Discovery and provided exemplary service to the Board of Trustees; and
15 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors is supportive of the request of the Board of Trustees.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The Arkansas Museum of Discovery Board of Trustees is authorized to proceed with the
19 election of Ms. Gertrude Clark as an honorary life member.
20 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
21 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
22 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
23 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
24 resolution.
25 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
26 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
