13286I 2 RESOLUTION NO. 13,286 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR, CITY MANAGER AND 4 CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO 5 ACQUIRE 6.35 ACRES LOCATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE UNITED 6 STATE MAIL POST OFFICE BUILDING ON COLONEL GLENN ROAD 81111111F_1J' 17 KC1131111 8 9 WHEREAS, a 2001 Master Parks Plan goal noted the importance of acquisition of lands to create a 10 City -wide linkage of parks, open space and greenways; and, 11 WHEREAS, property consisting of 6.35 acres located on the East side of the existing United States 12 Mail Post Office building on Colonel Glenn Road has been offered as a donation to the Little Rock Parks 13 System by the Jeffery H. Jenkins family; and, 14 WHEREAS, this property separates a commercial area from a residential area and provides potential 15 trail linkage between Colonel Glenn Road and The First Tee; and 16 WHEREAS, the property will be integrated into the Little Rock Park System of naturally maintained 17 forested areas that require very little or no operational funds to maintain; and 18 WHEREAS, the appraisal of the property is for the amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars 19 ($200,000); 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The Mayor, City Manager, and City Clerk are authorized to execute all documents 23 necessary to acquire 6.35 acres located on the East side of the existing United States Post Office building 24 on Colonel Glenn Road, in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, which is being offered as a donation by the 25 Jeffery H. Jenkins Family to the Little Rock Parks System, and which is more specifically identified in 26 the property description attached as Exhibit A to this resolution. 27 Section 2. The Mayor, City Manager, and City Clerk, are authorized to execute any and all 28 documents necessary, or properly requested, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for the purchase of 29 this property. 30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 31 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 32 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and [PAGE 1 OF 3] RESOLUTION To accept the donation of 6.35 acres on Colonel Glenn Road 1 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 2 resolution. 3 Section 4. Repealer.
