RESOLUTION NO. 13,285
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
APPROVE CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SIDEWALKS IN THE PULASKI HEIGHTS
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEIGHBORHOOD UNDER THE ARKANSAS
SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL GRANT PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department is offering grants to
communities to construct safe routes to schools for pedestrians; and
WHEREAS, the Pulaski Heights Safe Routes Committee and Pulaski Heights Elementary School
have prepared an application for a grant to construct sidewalks in the neighborhood around the school,
and the Public Works Department has agreed to provide design and construction services for the project if
a grant is awarded; and
WHEREAS, a resolution in support of the project is required as a part of the grant application;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Directors supports the project for safe routes to schools at the Pulaski
Heights Elementary School.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to approve contracts and agreements pertaining to
the grant application and agreement for the construction of new sidewalks under the Arkansas Safe
Routes to School grant program.
Section 3. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
