13272RESOLUTION NO. 13,272 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS 4 AND ADVERTISING DESIGN AND CONSULTATION SERVICES FOR 5 THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO TO BLACKWOOD AND COMPANY, LLC; AND 6 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo Director has determined that a continuing need exists to 9 promote the many new projects, exhibits and events that now are or shortly will be enhancing the 10 Zoo and the Zoo Director and the Little Rock Zoo Board of Governors have budgeted for such 11 promotion, public relations and advertising expense in 2011, and 12 WHEREAS, after a competitive selection process, Blackwood and Company, LLC, was selected 13 from among the three (3) responding firms by a selection committee to provide advertising design 14 and consultation services and public relations for the Little Rock Zoo, for an initial one (1) -year 15 contract in the maximum amount of $70,000, with options, by mutual consent, of three (3), one (1)- 16 year extensions under the same terms and conditions. 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 18 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an initial one 20 (1) -year contract, in a form approved by the City Attorney, with Blackwood and Company, LLC, for 21 advertising design and consultation and public relations services for the Little Rock Zoo in the 22 maximum amount of Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70,000), with options for three (3), one (1) -year 23 extensions, by mutual agreement of the parties, upon the same terms and conditions. 24 Section 2. Funds for such services are to be allocated from the following Zoo accounts: No. 607 25 235 3134 5140, $4,000; No. 607 235 3135 5140, $24,000; No. 607 235 3135 2130, $3,000; No. 607 26 235 3136 2130, $5,000; No. 607 235 3136 5140, $34,000. 27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 28 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration 29 or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full [PAGE 1 OF 2] RESOLUTION To award contract for the Zoon 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
