3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND A
4 CONTRACT WITH NEW FUTURES FOR YOUTH TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL
5 ASSISTANCE, YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY, EVALUATION, TRANSITION
6 PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION, AND FOR
7 OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and youth
10 development programs and services to enhance public safety and community- building, and
11 WHEREAS, Little rock, Ark. Res. 13,085 (February 16, 2010) provided for two (2) additional
12 contract terms based on their performance and Little Rock board of Directors appropriations.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
14 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the contract with New Futures for Youth, not to
16 exceed $190,000, for an additional contract term, upon approval of the contract by the City Attorney.
17 Section 2. Funds for this program is from FUTURE -Little Rock tax revenue specified for prevention,
18 intervention, and treatment programs, account number S 15T907.
19 Section 3. The term of the contract is from January 1, 2011, to December 31, 2011, and may be
20 extended for one (1) additional contract term upon appropriation, satisfactory performance and mutual
21 agreement of the parties.
22 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be
23 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this
24 resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
25 unconstitutional were not originally a part of this resolution.
26 Section 5. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any
27 provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
