3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ISSUE A LETTER
4 OF SUPPORT TO THE ARKANSAS DEVELOPMENT FINANCE
5 AUTHORITY FOR REHABILITATION OF MITCHELL SCHOOL,
6 LOCATED AT 2410 BATTERY STREET, IN THE CITY OF LITTLE
7 ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
9 WHEREAS, a proposed project has been submitted for the full rehabilitation of the main
10 Mitchell School building into sixteen (16), two (2)- bedroom apartments for senior citizen
11 housing units, and the construction of a new three (3) -level apartment building on the southwest
12 corner of the property to accommodate forty (40), two (2)- bedroom units; the project has been
13 reviewed in accordance with the City's process, and
14 WHEREAS, the project is to be financed through tax - exempt bonds issued by the Arkansas
15 Development Finance Authority, which has requested a letter of support from the Mayor before
16 the project can be approved for tax - exempt bond financing with tax credits.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the Mayor to issue a letter of support
20 for the full rehabilitation of the main Mitchell School building into sixteen (16), two (2)-
21 bedroom apartments for senior citizen housing units, and the construction of a new three (3)-
22 level apartment building on the southwest corner of the property to accommodate forty (40), two
23 (2)- bedroom units, through tax - exempt bonds issued by the Arkansas Development Finance
24 Authority.
25 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
26 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
27 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall
28 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
29 unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution.
30 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
31 inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such
