13199I RESOLUTION NO. 13,199 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A 4 CONTRACT WITH MID ARK ROOFING FOR THE EMERGENCY REPAIR OF 5 THE ROOF OF THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT 6 HEADQUARTERS BUILDING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the roof of the Little Rock Police Department headquarters building located at 700 West 9 Markham Street has deteriorated to the point where it leaks during rain events, and 10 WHEREAS, attempts to patch the damaged areas of the roof have not been effective in correcting the 11 problem, and 12 WHEREAS, during rain events the main hallway and several offices suffer rusty water leaks, and 13 WHEREAS, an inspection of the roof by the state of Arkansas agency responsible for public 14 buildings has resulted in the building being designated as hazardous, and 15 WHEREAS, an air quality inspection has identified several areas of health concern which require an 16 immediate remedy, and 17 WHEREAS, Mid Ark Roofing submitted the lowest responsible bid in the amount of $127,569, plus 18 a 20% contingency of $25,513.80 and taxes in the amount of $11,481.21 for a total contract amount of 19 $164,564.01, and 20 WHEREAS, funding for the repair project is available through a previously approved Short-Term 21 Financing Information Technology Project. 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 23 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with 25 Mid Ark Roofing to engage in the emergency repair of the Little Rock Police Department headquarters 26 building. 27 Section 2. Funding for this project is available through a previously approved Short -Term Financing 28 Information Technology Project. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 33 resolution. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
