13194RESOLUTION NO. 13,194 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH BURKHALTER COMPANY FOR 5 IMPROVEMENTS TO CONNER PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 8 WHEREAS, Conner Park, which is located west of the intersection of Cantrell and Sam 9 Peck Roads, consists of ten (10) acres with a pond and some earthen trails; and 10 WHEREAS, in the past few years improvements have been made to the park by Boy Scouts 11 projects and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's stocking the pond with fish; and 12 WHEREAS, in order for the public to fully benefit from the improved park, adequate vehi- 13 cle access, parking areas and appropriate signage is necessary; 14 WHEREAS, Bid No. 0257 was advertised to provide vehicle access, parking and signage for 15 Conner Park, and the most responsible and responsive bidder was Burkhalter Company, in the 16 amount of Eighty -Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00); 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Burkhalter 20 Company, for improvements to the Conner Park to consist of creating adequate vehicle access, 21 parking areas, and signage to identify the park, in an amount not to exceed Eighty -Five Thou - 22 sand Dollars ($85,000.00). 23 Section 2. The funds for the contract are available from park bonds refinancing. 24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 25 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 26 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall 27 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitu- 28 tional were not originally a part of the resolution. 29 Section 4. Repealer.
