131831 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 RESOLUTION NO. 13,183 A RESOLUTION TO EXTEND BY SIXTY (60) DAYS THE MORATORIUM ON THE APPROVAL OF APPLICATIONS FOR A SPECIAL EVENTS CENTER WHILE THE CITY DEFINES SUCH USES AS A PART OF THE ZONING OR- DINANCES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City does not have a discrete designation of "special events center" within the Little Rock Code of Ordinances and currently permits such use as a C -3, Commercial application; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 13,096 (March 2, 2010), the City Board of Directors estab- lished a six (6) -month moratorium on new or pending applications for a business that will be a special events center while the City develops a detailed definition of a special events center and determines the parameters of such use and the specifications for such use; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission is scheduled to consider and act on the definition of a special event center at its August 26, 2010, meeting, and a sixty (60) -day extension of the moratorium is needed to allow the Board of Directors time to receive and consider the Planning Commission's recommendation on this matter at the Board's September 21, 2010, meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The moratorium on approval of applications for a business that will be a special event center is hereby extended for a period of sixty (60) additional days. Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju- dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and ef- feet as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 3. Repealer. All resolutions and other matters in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of any consistency.
