3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD
4 A CONTRACT TO REDSTONE CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR COURT
5 REPAVING AT REBSAMEN TENNIS CENTER; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the Rebsamen Tennis Center was constructed over two decades ago and has,
9 over the years, received awards for being one of the best facilities of its kind in the southern
10 United States, and
11 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Department of Parks and Recreation has determined
12 that the Rebsamen Tennis Center tennis courts and walkways have deteriorated and are in need
13 of repaving in order to continue to attract tennis enthusiasts, and
14 WHEREAS, the City competitively bid the repaving services and Redstone Construction,
15 Inc., submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid, in the amount of Ninety -Five Thou -
16 sand, Nine Hundred Thirty -Seven and 28/100 Dollars ($95,937.28), including contingencies.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Redstone
20 Construction, Inc., for the repaving of the Rebsamen Tennis Center tennis courts and walkways
21 in the amount of Ninety -Five Thousand, Nine Hundred Thirty -Seven and 28/100 Dollars
22 ($95,937.28), including contingencies.
23 Section 2. The funds for the contract are available from the 1998 Refinancing Bond.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
25 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
26 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall
27 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitu-
28 tional were not originally a part of the resolution.
29 Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with
30 this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
