3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH J. A. RIGGS TRACTOR COMPANY FOR
5 THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF RETROFIT ENGINE KITS
6 FOR TWO (2) CATERPILLAR D7H DOZERS FOR FLEET SERVICES;
7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, as part of the City's "Green Initiative" to reduce fossil fuel emission to the
10 ozone, an invitation to bid was issued for the purchase and installation of Retrofit Engine Kits
11 for two (2) Caterpillar D7H Dozers, and
12 WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bid was received from J. A. Riggs
13 Tractor Company, in the amount of Eighty -Two Thousand, Three Hundred Fifty -Nine and
14 52/100 Dollars ($82,359.52);
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
16 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a
18 contract with J. A. Riggs Tractor Company, for the purchase and installation of Retrofit Engine
19 Kits for two (2) Caterpillar D7H Dozers, in the amount of Eighty -Two Thousand, Three
20 Hundred Fifty -Nine and 52/100 Dollars ($82,359.52);
21 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in the Public Works Solid Waste Enterprise
22 Account.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
24 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
25 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall
26 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
27 unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution.
28 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
29 inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such
30 inconsistency.
