3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL
4 SERVICES TO THE FIRM OF JACKSON BROWN KING ARCHITECTS
5 FOR WORK ON NEW FIRE STATION AT 4500 RAHLING ROAD; TO
6 AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
7 WITH THE FIRM; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the City issued a request for qualification for architectural services (Bid #
10 9237); and
11 WHEREAS, the firm of Jackson Brown King was deemed the most qualified firm to
12 perform the architectural services requested; and
13 WHEREAS, the services include the provision of architectural services for the design and
14 construction of Fire Station, 4500 Rahling Road, to be built in part with funds awarded under
15 the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Assistance to Firefighters Station Construction
16 Grants; and
17 WHEREAS, a contract has been negotiated with the firm for a fee of not to exceed
18 $185,218.25 plus reimbursable items identified in the contract.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1: A contract is hereby awarded to the firm of Jackson Brown King Architects in an
22 amount not to exceed $185,218.25 plus reimbursable items identified in the contract. The City
23 Manager is hereby authorized to sign the contract negotiated by the City Attorney's office.
24 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
25 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
26 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall
27 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
28 unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution.
29 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
30 inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such
31 inconsistency.
