3 A RESOLUTION TO SET MARCH 16, 2010, AS THE DATE OF
4 HEARING ON THE PETITION TO ABANDON PORTIONS OF THE
5 EASEMENTS RETAINED IN THE FORMER RIGHTS -OF -WAY OF
6 WEST 13TH STREET AND STATE STREET WITHIN THE CAMPUS
7 OF PHILANDER SMITH COLLEGE, IN THE CITY OF LITTLE
8 ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Clerk requesting that the Board of
11 Directors vacate and abandon portions of the easements retained in the former rights -of -way of
12 West 13th Street and State Street with the campus of Philander Smith College, pursuant to its
13 general police power authority under Ark. Code Ann. § 14 -54 -104.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
15 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The hearing on the ordinance to abandon the above - mentioned rights -of -way shall
17 be held at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock in the Board Room of
18 City Hall at six o'clock on the 16th day of March, 2010.
19 Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of such hearing in the manner
20 prescribed by law by publication once a week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper
21 published in Pulaski County, Arkansas, and having a general circulation in the City of Little
22 Rock.
