13085I RESOLUTION NO. 13,085 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH NEW FUTURES FOR YOUTH TO PROVIDE 5 TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY, 6 EVALUATION, MONITORING, VIOLENCE PREVENTION, AND 7 RESEARCH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and youth 10 development programs and services to enhance public safety and community- building, and 11 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 0202 to solicit proposals for technical assistance, 12 youth employability, evaluation, monitoring, violence prevention, and research, and 13 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted on January 28, 2010, 14 determined New Futures for Youth to be the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, and recommends 15 this organization for a contract award. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 17 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with New Futures for Youth, not 19 to exceed $190,000, to provide technical assistance, youth employability, evaluation, monitoring, 20 violence prevention and research services, upon approval of the contract by the City Attorney. 21 Section 2. Funds for this program is from FUTURE- Little Rock tax revenue specified for prevention, 22 intervention, and treatment programs, account number S15T819. 23 Section 3. The term of the contract is from March 1, 2010, to December 31, 2010, and may be 24 extended for two (2) additional contract terms upon appropriation, satisfactory performance and mutual 25 agreement of the parties. 26 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be 27 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 28 resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 29 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. 30 Section 5. Repealer.
