ABANDON A PORTION OF SOUTH TAYLOR
4 STREET AND WEST
11 ""' STREET AND EASEMENTS, LOCATED
5 WITHIN THE PEAY
AND WORTHEN SUBDIVISION AND THE
6 JOHN B. MAY SUBDIVISION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
7 WHEREAS, a request was made to vacate and abandon portions of South Taylor Street and
8 West l lth Street and easements, located within the Peay and Worthen Subdivision and the John
9 B. May Subdivision, pursuant to the City's general police power authority under Ark. Code Ann.
10 § 14 -54 -104; and
11 WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the abandoning of this public right -of -way and
12 easements will not have an adverse impact on the adjacent property owners nor the local traffic,
13 and therefore, the street rights -of -way and easements abandoned by this ordinance are no longer
14 needed for corporate purposes, except as otherwise noted below;
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
16 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby releases, vacates, and abandons the following
18 described right -of -way and easements:

22 All that portion of South Taylor Street, lying in the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County,
23 State of Arkansas, being more particularly described as BEGINNING at the intersection
24 of the South right -of -way line of West 10th Street and the East right -of -way line of South
25 Taylor Street, said point being the beginning of a curve to the left, having a radius of
26 25.00 feet, a central angle of 89 °33'51 ", and a chord which bears South 51 °02'05" West, a
27 distance of 35.22 feet; thence Southwesterly along said curve and East right -of -way line a
28 distance of 39.08 feet; thence South 04 °38'22" West, along said East right -of -way line, a
29 distance of 244.86 feet to a point on the North right -of -way line of West 11"' Street;
30 thence North 83 °59'11" West, along said North right -of -way line, a distance of 4.47 feet
31 to the beginning of a curve to the left, having a radius of 40.00 feet, a central angle of

39 89 °22'06 ", and a chord which bears North 39 °00'38" West, a distance of 35.55 feet;

9 of Arkansas, being more particularly described as BEGINNING at the Southwest corner
10 of Lot 1R of John B. May Addition, as recorded in Plat Book "D ", Page 349 in the
11 records of Pulaski County, said point being on the North right -of -way line of West 11th
12 Street; thence South 83 °33'11" East, along said North right -of -way line, a distance of
13 280.14 feet to the beginning of a curve to the left, having a radius of 24.66 feet, a central
14 angle of 90 °46'24 ", and a chord which bears North 51 °03'37" East, a distance of 35.12
15 feet; thence Northeasterly along said curve a distance of 39.08 feet to a point on the West
16 right -of -way line of South Taylor Street; thence South 06 °26'49" West, along said West
17 right -of -way line, a distance of 75.22 feet to the South right -of -way line of West 11th

28 a distance of 357.13 feet to a point on the South right -of -way line of West l lth Street;
29 thence South 83 °33'11" East, along said South right -of -way line, a distance of 16.60 feet
30 to the POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continue South 83 °33'11" East, along said South

42 Section 2. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the
43 real estate records of the recorder of the Circuit Clerk in ex officio recorder of Pulaski County,
44 Arkansas.
45 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
46 phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
47 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall

remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged to be invalid or
unconstitutional were not originally a part of the ordinance.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same that are
inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such
inconsistency.
