3 A ORDINANCE TO DISPENSE WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF
4 COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
5 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH MOTOROLA TO PURCHASE SIXTEEN
6 MOTOROLA MOBILE POLICE RADIOS AND WIRING HARNESSES TO
7 OUTFIT THE NEW FLEET OF POLICE VEHICLES; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Police Department is in need of sixteen new mobile radios to outfit the
11 new fleet of police vehicles, and
12 WHEREAS, Motorola is the sole supplier of radio equipment for the City of Little Rock, and
13 WHEREAS, competitive bidding should be waived and the contract awarded to Motorola, as the
14 sole source provider of the radio equipment and necessary wiring harnesses, in order to maintain a
15 consistent and comprehensive radio system for the Police Department.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
17 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The Board of Directors finds that competitive bidding should be dispensed with regarding
19 the purchase of sixteen mobile radios and wiring harnesses to outfit the City's new fleet of police
20 vehicles, and the contract for such equipment should be awarded to Motorola, the sole supplier of radio
21 equipment for the City of Little Rock.
22 Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to dispense with competitive bidding and to enter
23 into a contract with Motorola for the purchase of sixteen mobile radios and wiring harnesses to outfit the
24 City's new fleet of police vehicles, in the amount of Eighty One Thousand Two Hundred Twenty
25 Dollars and Thirty Two Cents ($81,220.32).
26 Section 3. Funding for this purchase is available from the Police Equipment Special Project funds.
27 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and
30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
31 ordinance.

Section 5. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
any provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
