20108I ORDINANCE NO. 20,108 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DISPENSE WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF 4 COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 5 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVENTY THOUSAND, 6 FOUR HUNDRED SEVEN AND 66/100 DOLLARS ($70,407.66), WITH 7 MOTOROLA, INC., AS THE SOLE SOURCE PROVIDER, FOR THE 8 PURCHASE OF FOURTEEN (14) ADDITIONAL PORTABLE RADIOS; AND 9 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 WHEREAS, the Police Department needs additional portable radios to issue to the current recruit class and for 1 1 a back -up supply for emergency situations where additional personnel are required; and 12 WHEREAS, competitive bidding should be waived and the contract awarded to Motorola, Inc., as the sole 13 source provider for the purchase of fourteen additional portable radios for the amount of Seventy Thousand, Four 14 Hundred Seven and 66/100 Dollars ($70,407.66). 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF 16 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The Board of Directors finds that competitive bidding should be dispensed with in the purchase of 18 fourteen (14) new portable radios for the Police Department. 19 Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to dispense with competitive bidding and to enter into a 20 contract with Motorola, Inc.., for the purchase of the fourteen (14) portable police radios, in the amount of Seventy 21 Thousand, Four Hundred Seven and 66/100 Dollars ($70,407.66). 22 Section 3. Funds for this purchase are available from the Police Equipment Special Project funds. 23 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of 24 this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not 25 affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared 26 or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the ordinance. 27 Section 5. Repealer.
