OF ARKANSAS AND. FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
YH -EREAS the rR: E%erts host #1, the American Legion,
Department of Arkansas, has organized a.nd maintain a drum
and bugle comas consistin_:, of.' forty members,and
HEREAS the National Convention of the American Legion
is to be held in Louisville, Kentucky September 30, October
1,2, and 3, at which time the Arkansas Legio=aires shall
exert every effort to secure the honor of National Commander
of American Legion for a citizen of Ark�;nsa.s, and
1;HEREIiS at an exnense of a-nproximately X3,000 the Little
Rock Post of the American Legion has out - fitted and_ equipped
_K._. and is preparing to send. their Drum and Bugle Corps to the
convention, and
HHEREAS Little Rock and the State of Arkansas will be well
and favorably advertised by this organization) therefore
BE IT ORDAINrD BY THE CITY COTJ.NCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK:
Section 1. That the sum of Two Hundred 0200) Dollars is
hereby appropriated for the ouraose of a.ssistin� and defraying
the expenses of this organization in its undertakin4 and the
Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to issue a warrant
in this amount, payable to the M.M.Eberts Post of the American
Legion, payable from the general revenue fund.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in force from and after
its passage.
