AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING.$1,02D.21vIN PARTIAL PAYMENT OF
CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES SUSTAINED IN GUN BATTLE AT 16th & HIGH ST'.,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, claim for damages have been presented by the
following parties on account of damages sustained in gun battle
at 16th and High at., on December 179 1928 between Arnie L.
Devoe and a number of City officers: AndrewyPppas, damage :to
fiatur,ea� ets., $1,518.45; Wm 8chmand, damage .to car and store,
building, $82.60; Walter G. Hall, damage to building at 1601
High at., $439.38; and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the Committee investi-
gating these claims that in each instance payment be made for
one -half of the amount of damages set forth,
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS

Section 1: That there is hereby appropriated out of
the general revenue fund of the City, the,sum of $11020.21 to
be paid the following parties: Andrew Pappas, $751.22; Wm
Schmand, $41.30; Walter G. Hall $219.69; and the Mayor and
City Clerk are hereby authorized to issue the City's warrant or
warrants thereto, payable to the patties above named.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage.
