4341ORDINANCE No. 43410 AID ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE RUNNING T LARGE ARGE OF DOGS WITHIN 014- THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF.THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: Section 1. From and after the date of passage of this ordinance the running at large of dogs within the corpor- ate limits of the city of Little Rock, Arkansas, shall be pro- hibited, and it shall be unlawful for the owner or owners of dogs to permit them to run at large within the corporate limits. Section 2. The owner, owners, keeper or keepers of any dog or dogs licensed under Ordinance No. 3659, shall not allow the same to be in or go upon,the streets, alleys, or places frequented by the public within the corporate limits of the City of Little Rock, unless restrained by a leash and muzzled with the type of muzzle which will effectively prevent the possibility of said dog biting any person. Nor shall such dog or dogs be placed, kept or transported in any automobile, truck or other conveyance unless restrained by a leash securely attached to said automobile, truck or other conveyance, in such a manner as to effectively prevent said dog or dogs from leav- ing same. 7h it C i N y P0.4.,-1 CL 7 X70 8TH Section 3. Any wke be r►'9 "e T i ttl D +lr Dnl fm pepe'r4m is hereby authorized to seize any dog running at large in the corporate limits of said city, in violation of this ordinance, and all dogs so seized shall be detained in the city pound for forty -eight hours so that notice may be given to the owner of any dog seized, where it is possible to ascertain the owner's identity, and any dog so taken may be recovered upon payment of a fee of $1.00 to the City Collector. Section 4. Any person or persons violating any provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis- demeanor, and upon conviction in the Little Rock Municipal i C - • 2 :- Ord. No. 4341. Court shall be fined in any sum not less than $2.00 nor more than $10.00 for each offense. Section 5. Any ordinance in conflict herewith shall be repealed only in so far as it conflicts with the provisions of this ordinance. Section 6. This ordinance being for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace and safety, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. Passed: June 11, 1929. Attest.
