4319i ORDINANCE NO. 1} 1 ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OJE THOUSAND DOLLARS %3 60.00) TO AID IN EXPE:'TSE OF U. 0. V. REUNION, AVD FOR OTHER PURPOSES. Whereas, the Thirty - eighth Annual Confederate Re- Union, in response to invitation, will assemble in Little Rock, Arkansas, on ?gay 8th, 1928, And whereas, the Confederate Re-Union held here in 1911 is recognized as one of two most outstanding Re- Unions ever held, . And whereas, the State of Arkansas by Act. Nov 171, Acts o 1927, has appropriated the sum of 030,000.00 towards payment of exile:nse of said Re -Union fie, and by private and public subscriptions, $9,000.00, making; a total of X39,000.00 with a probable deficit of several thousand dollars. And whereas the 1928 Re -Union will profit by the experience and statistics on other contracts made and to be made for the Little Rock Re -Union show the expense will be $45,000.00 to $50,000.00. And whereas the time is short until said Re-Union convenes, and the City as joint host with the State of Arkansas desires to take some positive step in the direction of encouraging the hospitality and also in financing of said Re- Union, THEmWORE, BE IT ORDAIuED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: Section 1. That the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) is hereby appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund of the City of Little Rock, and the Mayor and.City Clerk are hereby authorized to issue the City's warrant or warrants therefor, same to be made payable to the U.
