AS ANNEX NO. 1 TO STREET I
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS the majority in value of the propertyholders owning

property adjoining the locality to be affected and situated in
what is known as.Annex No. 1 to Street Improvement District No.
43 Y
�9 of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, contiguous thereto and
heretofore made a part thereof, organized for the purpose of re-

paving, grading, repairing, curbing, guttering, and draining East
Markham Street from its intersection with the west property line
of Commerce Street east to its intersection with the west property
line of Rector Avenue, and grading, - paving, curbing, guttering,
and draining that part of Commerce Street lying north of East
Markham Street, commonly designated as North Commerce Street,
from its intersection with East Markham Street to a point one
hundred forty feet north of the north side of East Markham Street,
i�- grading, paving, curbing, guuttering, and draining that art t
of Sherman Street lying north of East Markham Street, commonly
designated as North Sherman Street, to a point one hundred twenty -
five feet north of the north side of East Markham Street and building
such retaining walls as may be necessary; said improvement to be
done in such manner and with such material as the commissioners
may determine to be for the best interest of the district, except
that the surfacing and re- surfacing of said streets shall be done
with concrete or Jarrenite- Bitulithic material, with binder course,
or such other material as the commissioners may select, and said

curb of the portion of said streets herein mentioned except as to
the re- paving to be done by the Street Car Company on East Mark-
ham Street, have petitioned the City Council of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas for the construction of said improvement and that
the cost thereof shall be assessed upon the real property of that
part of the district so annexed and made a part of the said district
according to the benefits received; anal
Whereas said benefits received by each and every block, lot,
and parcel of real property situated in said district equals or

exceeds the local assessment thereon; and

Whereas the estimated cost of said improvement is Thirteen
Thousand Six Hundred Six & 90/100 Dollars;
Now, Therefore, Be It Ordained by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. That the said several blocks, lots, and parcels
of real property in said district be assessed according to the
assessment list for that part of said improvement district known
as Annex No. 1 and
