4083w/ yr� ! ORDINANCE NO. 4083. ( An Ordinance tr6 Regulate the Erection, Construction and Lo- _ cation of Gasoline Filling Stations, and to Provide Penalties for Its Violation. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: x Section 1. That every person, firm or corporation here- after desiring to install any gasoline filling station, or to erect any building to house the same, or both, within the fire limits of the City of Little Rock, shall conform to the following requirements: First: Said person, firm or corporation shall pe- tition the City Council to grant permission for the in- stallation of said gasoline filling station or for the construction of said building, or both, and said peti- tion shall be accompanied by a blue print plainly des- ignating the location of each tank, pump, building and other installationj(of whatever nature to be made; also said petition shall be accompanied by complete plans and specifications of each building to be erected. Second. If said petition shall be granted by the City Council the applicant then shall make applica- tion to the Public ;'forks Department of this city for a peAmit to do necessary construction work and installa- tion, and shall n�.y therefor the following fees: For each tank to be placed underground, $5.00 For each driveway leading into or out of said filling station, 2.00 For each separate pump installed, 2.00 For buildin; or buildings to be erected, the fee required under the building code. Sec. 2. Each separate gasoline pump, with necessary gasoline tank and oil pump, shall be considered and construed to be a gasoline filling station within the terms of this ordinance; and no owner Hof gasoline filling station al- ready erected b^ b 4;6� ; all in any manner alter the same by changing the location of buildings, tanks or pumps, or by the addition of buildings, tanks or pumlbs, without first complying with the provisions of this ordinance and secur- ing the two permits herein required. Sec. 3. That no gasoline filling station shall here- after be erected within five hundred feet of any church, school,Nhospital, public park or public building or groundst Sec. 4. No gasoline filling station shall hereafter be erected within ten feet of any adjoining property line, xtreet, sidewal)C or alley. Sec. 6. All buildings designed to be used for gasoline filling stations shall be of fireproof construction, and all appliances shall be safe and of the latest approved de- sign, and free from unnecessary danger with reference to fire protection. Sec. 6. Each person, firm or corporation who shall vio- late any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not less than X25 nor more than 1100, and each days violation shall be treated as a separate offense. Sec. 7. This ordinance being necessary for the im ediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergen- cy is hereby declared to exist, and it shall take effec. and be in force from and after its passage, and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
