ORDINANCE NO. 4023.
AN ORDINANCE AMEXING A CERTAIN PORTION
At HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED, OF THE C ITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO STREET D1PROVE-
IENT DISTRICT NO. 430 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARK.
WHEREAS, persons claiming to be a majority in value Of the
owners of real property within the territory hereinafter described,
W*O# property adjoins Street Improvement District No. 430 of Little
Rook, Arkansas, a duly created and existing improvement district in
said city, desire to be added to and inoluded in said improvement
district, and have filed a petition with the City Council of the City
of Little Rook, Arkansas, praying that said territory be annexed to
said improvement district and have designated the nature of the in-
provements to be undertaken, and have described the territory to be
annexed, and
AREAS, the City Council has directed the City Clerk to
publish for two weeks in some newspaper issued and having a general
efrenlation in Pulaski County, a notice calling upon the property
owners within said territory to appear before this Council on this
day and show cause for or against such annexation, and
WHEREAS, such notice has been duly published and this is
the time fixed in said notice for the hearing to determine whether
those signing said petition constitute a majority in value of the
owners of real property in said territory, and
WHEREAS, this Council has heard all persons who desire to be
heard upon the question of whether the signers of said petition
constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property within
said territory sought to be annexed;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That this Council has aoertained that the signers
of the petition to annex the property hereinafter described to Street
Improvement District No. 430 of the city of Little Rook, Arkansas,
constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property within
the territory sought to be annexed, and that said petition for the
annex ;tion of said territory is in due form and properly signed by a
majority of the owners of real property as required by law.
SECTION 2. That Lots 1 to 6, inclusive, of Block 2 of Central
Heights Addition and Lots 7 to 12, inclusive, of Block 8 of Kimball
and Bodemann's Addition of the City of Little Rook, Pulaski County,
AAA"~$ be, and they are hereby added to and annexed to Street
Improvement District No. 430 of Little Rook, and are a part of said
improvement district, and the commissioners of said district shall
proceed to make the improvements petitioned for by doing the necessary
paving in such manner and with such materials as the commissioners of
said district shall determine to be for the best interests of the
territory hereby annexed to said Street Improvement District No. 430
on Valentine Street from the south line of West Seventh Street to the
north line of West Eighth Street; that such annexed territory shall be
known as the Valentine Street Annex to Street Improvement district No.
430 of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 3. That the commissioners shall make the assessment
of benefits for said improvements on the lots in the territory hereby
annexed on the same basis as if said territory had been included in the
original district and shall file said assessments with the City Clerk.
SECTION 4. That all ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and the City Clerk is hereby ordered within
20 days after the passage of this ordinance to publish same in some
newspaper published in the City of Little Rook for one insertion.
