ORDINANCE NO. 2939 AID FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAIUM BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2939 be and the
same is hereby amended so as to read as folloigs:
"Section 2. Upon the filing of said application
in the office of the City Collector, it shall be the
duty of the City Collector, or his duly authorized
deputy, without further fees, to issue to the owner of such
motor vehicle as is described in the application filed a
certificate of registration, which certificate shall be
in the form of a card, which may be carried in the pocke t
and vlhi ch shall contain a distinctive number, which shall
be assigned to such motor vehicle by said collector, and
said collector shall also issue and deliver to the owner of
such motor vehicle,.one metal plate, bearing the number
assigned to such motor vehicle,, together with the words
"Little Rock", and it shall be the duty of such owner to
conspicuously display said plate upon the rear of such
motor vehicle whenever the same shall be driven or used
upon the public streets, alleys or public ways of this
city.
It shall be unlvaful to transfer the metal plate
from one motor vehicle for which it was purchased to any
other motor vehicle and it shall be unlawful for any one
to use any metal plate which may have been lost or stolen
If the owner shall sell the motor vehicle for which a
certificate of registration has been issued and on which
a metal plate has been displayed as herein before provided,
the metal plate shall remain on the car so sold unless
the original purchaser of the metal plate desires to excharlge
it for a new metal plate for a different car. In this in-
s Lance, the original owner of the metal plate may detach
it from the car for which it -was sold and bring it to the
City Collector who shall io'sue to him an entirely new metal
plate for his new car fo ;'which a fee of X2.50 shall be
charged. The said new ,;fetal plate shall bear a different
number from the one originally sold and it shall expire
at the same date as�,the original metal plate.
Should the metal plate attached to any motor vehicle
be lost or stolen, the owner thereof according to the
records in the City Collector's office shall upon certi-
fying to tae City Collector that said metal plate has been
lost or stolen have issued to him an entirely new metal
plate in lieu of the one lost or stolen for a fee of One
bollar. The new metal plate so issued shall bear a dif-
ferent number from the one originally sold and it sha611
expire at the same date as the original metal plate."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after April 30th, 1926.
