AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A CMTAIN PORTION,
HEREINAFTER' DESCRIBi , OF THE CITY OP,
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO STREET IMPRbV$
MENT DISTRICT N0. 356 OF SAID CITY,

described, which property adjoins Street Improvement District
No. 356 of Little Rock, Arkansas, -a du]. created and existing
improvement district in said city, deli a to be added to and
included in said improvement district and have filed a petition
with the city council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, pray-
ing that said territory be annexed to said improvement district,
have designated the nature of the improvement to be undertaken
and have described the territory to be annexed, and
WJIEREAS, the city council has directed the city clerk
to publish for two weeks in some newspaper issued and having

the property owners within said territory to appear before
this council on this day and show cause for or against such
annexati on, and
WHEREAS, each notice has been duly published and this
is the time for the hearing to determine whether those signing
said petition constitute the majority in value of the owners of
real property in said territory, and
WHEREAS, this council has heard all persons who desire

THu'aREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

SECTION 1: That this City Council has ascertained
that the signers of the petition to annex the property here-
inafter described,to Street Improvement District Not 356 of
the City of Little Rook, Arkansas, do constitute a majority
in value of the owners of real property within the territory
to be annexed; that said petition for the annexation
of %aid territory is in due fort and properly signed by a maj-
ority of the owners of real property as required by law. li
SECTION 2: That all the following described real
property, to -wit:
Lots 4 to 9 inclusive of Blocks 3 32 and 37;
Lots 1, 29 3, 100 11 and 12 of Brake 4 and 31;
Lots 1, 2, 3 and 7 to 12 inclusive of Block 38;
Lots 4, S and 6 of Block 147; and all of Block
148, all in the original. City of Little Rook.
Lots 1; 2 3, 100 11 and 12 of Blocks 9, 10, 11
Ani 3.9; tots 4 to 9 inclusive of Block 13;
Lots 4.to 18 inclusive kf Block 14; all of Blocks
15,E 18, 17 4UA 18; and Lots 7 to 12 inclusive of
Block 19; 411 in Pope's Addition to the City of
Little Rook,
All in the City of Little Rook, Palaski County, Arkansas, be
and the sEme is hereby added to and annexed to Street Improve-
ment District No. 356 of Little Rock, and the commissioners of
said district shall proceed to make the improvements petitioned
for by draining and re- paving the following street:
East Third Street from the east property line
of Main Street to the west property line of
Rector Avenue;
by grading, draining, curbing, guttering and paving the follow-
ing streets:
Rook Street from the south property line of

to the north property line
o Sa OV Street' and Commerce and Sherman
Streets, respectively, from the south property
line of Ust Third Street to the north property
line of Fast Capitol Avenue;
all to be done in euoh manner and with materials as the com-
missioners of said district shall determine to be for the best
interests of the territory hereby annexed.

SECTION 3: That said territory hereby annexed shall
be known as the East Third Street Annex to Street Improvement
District No. 356 of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 4: That the commissioners shall make the
assessment of benefits for said improvements on the lots I
.? -lea or parcels of real property in the territory herein
annexed on the same basis as if said territory were included
in the original district and shall file said assessments with
the City Clerk.
S3CTI ON 5: That all-ordinances or parts of o rd inan-
oes in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance
shall take effect 4nd be in force from and after its passage,
and the City Clerk is hereby ordered within twenty days after
the passage of this ordinance to publish the same in some news-
paper published in the City of Little Rook for one insertion.
