RESOLUTION NO. 13,040
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO RENEW THE
CONTRACT FOR DENTAL CARE INSURANCE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES
WITH DELTA DENTAL OF ARKANSAS FOR TWO ADDITIONAL YEARS;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Delta Dental of Arkansas ( "Delta Dental ") has submitted a proposal to renew the existing
dental care policy for City employees for 2010 and 2011 and,
WHEREAS, the proposal from Delta Dental provides for a two -year rate guarantee that will result in a 3%
increase in premium for 2010 and no increase in 2011;
WHEREAS, Delta Dental's network of participating providers is the broadest of the proposals received.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to renew an agreement with Delta Dental of Arkansas for the
years 2010 and 2011 to provide dental insurance coverage for eligible City employees at a three (3) percent increase
in 2010, no increase and no change in benefit structure.
Section 2. Funds for the cost of this coverage will be included as a line item in the 2010 City budget.
Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, which
shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
originally a part of this ordinance.
Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any
provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
