12972I RESOLUTION NO. 12,972 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE 2008 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR CDBG, 4 HOME AND ESG FUNDS WHICH WAS APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF 5 DIRECTORS IN RESOLUTION NO. 12,598, (NOVEMBER 6, 2007), TO ADD 6 THE HOMELESS PREVENTION AND RAPID- REHOUSING PROGRAM 7 (HPRP) FUNDS; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE 8 AMENDMENT TO THE ACTION PLAN FOR CONSIDERATION BY THE U.S. 9 DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT; AND FOR 10 OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors approved the 2008 Annual Action Plan and authorized the City 13 Manager to submit the proposed Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 14 Resolution number 12,598, adopted on November 6, 2007, and 15 WHEREAS, Homeless Prevention and Rapid - Rehousing (HPRP) funds in the amount of $682,197 16 will be available to provide temporary assistance to the homeless or to those at risk of becoming 17 homeless. 18 WHEREAS, assistance may take the form of short-term rental assistance and utility assistance, 19 including deposits, and other supportive services such as case management, and housing and credit 20 counseling. 21 WHEREAS, the proposed amendment to add the HPRP funds has been reviewed and approved by 22 the Consolidated Planning Committee and a public hearing held, with a 12 -day comment period, giving 23 the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed amendment; 24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 25 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 26 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to submit the amendment to the 2008 Annual Action 27 Plan, to include the use of HPRP funds, to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. 28 Section 2. Severabilty. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 32 resolution. 33 Section 3. Repealer.
