12813I RESOLUTION NO. 12,813 2 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD AN ANNUAL 3 PURCHASE ORDER TO LANDERS TOYOTA OF LITTLE ROCK, AS THE PRIME 4 UNDERCOVER LEASE VEHICLE VENDOR, AND CAPPS RENT A CAR, INC. OF 5 DALLAS, TEXAS, AS SECONDARY VENDOR FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; 6 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 WHEREAS, the Police Department has been without a formal contract for the leasing of undercover 8 vehicles for two (2) years, after formally bidding unsuccessfully on two separate occasions; and 9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock recently received bids for an APO for the leasing of undercover 10 vehicles, and the lowest responsible and responsive bid was received from LANDERS TOYOTA OF LITTLE 11 ROCK, and the second lowest responsible and responsive bid was from CAPPS RENT A CAR, INC. OF 12 DALLAS, TEXAS; 13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 14 ROCK, ARKANSAS: 15 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with 16 LANDERS TOYOTA OF LITTLE ROCK, as the primary provider of undercover leased vehicles, and CAPPS 17 RENT A CAR, INC. OF DALLAS, TEXAS, as secondary provider, for the Little Rock Police Department, in 18 an estimated amount of Two Hundred Thirty -four Thousand Dollars ($234,000.00). 19 Section 2. The contract is authorized for a period of one (1) year and can be renewed for an 20 additional two (2) years, upon agreement of the parties. 21 Section 3. Funds for this purpose are available from 2009 Departmental budget accounts. 22 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 23 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 24 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain 25 in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not 26 originally a part of the resolution. 27 Section 4. Repealer.
