CENTER FOR A NATURE CENTER; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas (the "City ") was awarded $148,500 of Economic
Development Initiative funds (FY 2006 EDI- Special Project No. B- 06 -SP -AR -0045) by the Department of
Housing and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, the funds are to be used for the Renovation and improvements to the community
center at Granite Mountain; and
WHEREAS, Audubon Arkansas has recently awarded a contract to Flynco, Inc., to construct the
improvements to the Granite Mountain Community Center for use as a Nature Center; and
WHEREAS, the City is prepared to enter into a contract with Audubon Arkansas to pay for part of
the renovation and improvements to the Community Center; and
WHEREAS, this contract for $148,500 is for a part of the total cost; the total cost being
$1,160,000; and
WHEREAS, the contractor is ready to begin construction.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with Audubon
Arkansas for $148,500 of HUD money previously awarded to the City for the purpose of facilities
renovation and improvements to the Granite Mountain Community Center.
Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
phrase, or, word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain
in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
originally a part of the resolution.
Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
