A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY
FROM ARKANSAS STATE HOSPITAL FOR RIGHT -OF -WAY OF EAST -
WEST EXPRESSWAY AND THE CONVEYANCE OF REAL PROPERTY
OWNED BY THE CITY TO THE STATE HOSPITAL AS PART CON-
SIDERATION THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is desirous of obtaining
certain property owned by the Arkansas State Hospital, more particu-
larly described below; and
WHEREAS, the Arkansas State Hospital likewise desires to
acquire certain property within War Memorial Park now owned by the
City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock and the Arkansas State Hospi-
tal have agreed to exchange parcels,together with other considerations
between the parties;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to execute in favor of the Arkansas State Hospital a
Quitclaim Deed in and to the following described property located
in War Memorial Park, City of Little Rock, Arkansas, more particularly
described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at a point 1,254 feet south of the Northeast
corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter
of Section 6, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, which is
on the East line of the West half of the East half of
Section 6, thence South 3 degrees 2 minutes West 858
feet to a point on said line, thence North 72 degrees 55
minutes West 142.8 feet to a point, thence North 10 de-
grees 30 minutes East 100 feet to a point, thence North
1 degree 7 minutes East 225.6 feet to a point, thence
North 5 degrees 11 minutes West 100 feet to a point, thence
North 8 degrees 40 minutes West 100 feet to a point, thence
North 11 degrees 52 minutes East 100 feet to a point, thence
North 31 degrees 50 minutes East 100 feet to a point, thence
North 43 degrees 33 minutes East 100 feet to a point, thence
North 48 degrees 12 minutes East 55 feet to the point of
beginning, said parcel containing 2.46 acres more or less.

The said Quitclaim Deed shall be prepared by the Office of the
City Attorney and shall contain a covenant or restriction creating
in or reserving unto the public a right -of -way easement for street
purposes in the South 100 feet of the property above described.
Said Deed shall further contain a covenant or restriction prohibiting
the Grantee from erecting any improvement on said land and providing
that said land shall be landscaped only.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept,
in exchange for the Quitclaim Deed described in Section 1 hereof
and other good and sufficient considerations, a Deed from the
Arkansas State Hospital in and to the following described property,
to -wit:
A tract of land situated in the south part of the
Northeast Quarter (NEk) the Southeast Quarter (SEk)
of Section 6, Township 1 North, Range 12 West and
in the South part of the Northwest Quarter (NWk)
of the Southwest Quarter (SW's) of Section 5, Town-
ship 1 North, Range 12 West of the Fifth principal
Meridian, in the County of Pulaski, in the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, and being more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Northeast
Quarter (NE'k) of the Southeast Quarter (SE'k) of Sec-
tion 6, Township 1 North, Range 12 West for a point
of beginning, said point being in the centerline of
West Eighth Street, thence east along said centerline
of West Eighth Street a distance of two thousand six
hundred sixty two and one tenth (2,662.1) feet, thence
north zero degrees thirty one minutes east (N 00 31'E)
a distance of two hundred eighty five (285) feet, thence
south seventy eight degrees sixteen minutes west (S 780
16' W) a distance of three hundred twenty nine and forty
five hundredths (329.45) feet, thence south eighty seven
degrees forty one minutes west (S 870 41' W) a distance
of two thousand seventy five and eight tenths (2,075.8)
feet, thence south fifty seven degrees fifty minutes west
(S 570 50' W) a distance of one hundred one and fifty nine
hundredths (101.59) feet, thence west a distance of one
hundred eighty one and thirty five hundredths (181.35) feet,
thence South zero degrees twenty eight minutes west (S 00
28' W) a distance of eighty (80) feet to the point of be-
ginning and containing ten and seventy eight hundredths
(10.78) acres, more or less.
The City Manager shall accept the deed to the property described in
this section after title to same and the form of the deed thereto

have been approved by the Office of the City Attorney.
SECTION 3. Improvements situated on lands described in
Section 2 above may be occupied by the State Hospital until
notice to vacate is given by the City of Little Rock. Further,
improvements so situated upon said lands described, ray be
demolished or removed at the option of the State Hospital when
notice to vacate is given provided, however, such demolition
and/or removal is accomplished within ninety (90) days at no
expense to the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption*
