AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE CITY'S PLANNING
TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION LINE AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
SECTION I. WHEREAS Arkansas Act 186 of 1957
establishes five (5) mile territorial planning jurisdiction for cities
of the first class,
SECTION II. The City hereby establishes the planning territory
boundary line legally described as follows:
Beginning at a point which is on the centerline of the Arkansas River,
said point on being the intersection of the centerline of the
Arkansas River and the north line of Section One (1), Township 2
North (T -2 -N), Range 14 West (R- 14 -W);
Thence westerly along the north line of Sections One (1), Two (2),
Three (3) and Four (4), Township 2 North (T -2 -N), Range 14 West
(R- 14 -W), to the northwest corner of Section Four (4), Township 2
North (T -2 -N), Range 14 West (R- 14 -W);
Thence southerly along the west line of Sections Four (4), Nine (9)
Sixteen (16), Twenty -one (21), Twenty -eight (28), and Thirty -three
(33), Township 2 North (T -2 -N), Range 14 West (R- 14 -W), to the
southwest corner of Thirty -three (33), Township 2 North (T -2 -N),
Range 14 West (R- 14 -W);
Thence along a line common to Township 2 North (T -2 -N) and
Township 1 North (T -1 -N) to the northwest corner of Section Four
(4), Township 1 North (T -1 -N), Range 14 West (R- 14 -W);
Thence southerly along the west line of Sections Four (4) and
Nine (9), Township 1 North (T -1 -N), Range 14 West (R -14 -W, to
the southwest corner of Section Nine (9), Township 1 North (T -1 -N),
Range 14 West (R- 14 -W);
Thence easterly along the south line of said Section Nine (9), to
the northwest corner of Section Fifteen (15), Township 1 North
(T -1 -N), Range 14 West (R- 14 -W);
Thence southerly along the west side of Section Fifteen (15) to the
southwest corner of Section Fifteen (15), Township 1 North (T -1 -N),
Range 14 West (R- 14 -W);
Thence easterly along the south line of said Section Fifteen (15),
to the northwest corner of Section Twenty -three (23), Township 1
North (T -1 -N), Range 14 West (R- 14 -W);
Thence southerly along the west line of said Section Twenty -three
(23) to the southwest corner of Section Twenty -three (23), Township 1

Thence easterly along the south line of said Section Twenty -three (23),

to the southwest corner of the northwest one quarter (NW 1/4) of

Thence easterly along the south line of the north one half (N 1/2) of
said Section Eighteen (18) to the southeast corner of the northeast
one quarter (NE 1/4) of Section Eighteen (18), Township 1 South (T -1 -S),
Range 13 West (R- 13 -W);
Thence southerly along the east line of said Section Eighteen (18) to
the southwest corner of Section Seventeen (17), Township 1 South
(T -1 -S), Range 13 West (R- 13 -W);
Thence easterly along the south line of Sections Seventeen (17),
Sixteen (16), Fifteen (15), Fourteen (14), and Thirteen (13), Township 1
South (T -1 -S), Range 13 West (R -13 -W) to the southeast corner of Section
Thirteen (13), Township 1 South (T -1 -S), Range 13 West (R- 13 -W);
Thence along a line common to Range 13 West (R -13 -W) and Range 12 West
(R- 12 -W), to the northwest corner of Section Nineteen (19), Township 1
South (T -1 -S) Range 12 West (R- 12 -W);
Thence southerly along the west line of Sections Nineteen (19) and
Thirty (30), to the southwest corner of Section Thirty (30), Township 1
South (T -1 -S), Range 12 West (R- 12 -W);
Thence easterly along the south line of Sections Thirty (30), Twenty -nine
(29), and Twenty -eight (28) to the southeast corner of Section Twenty -eight
(28), Township 1 South (T -1 -S), Range 12 West (R- 12 -W);
Thence northerly along the east line of said Section Twenty -eight (28),
to the southwest corner of Section Twenty -two (22), Township 1 South
(T -1 -S), Range 12 West (R- 12 -W);
Thence easterly along the south line of said Section Twenty -two (22)
to the southeast corner of Section Twenty -two (22), Township 1 South
(T -1 -S), Range 12 West (R- 12 -W);
Thence northerly along the east line of said Section Twenty -two (22),
to the southwest corner of Section Fourteen (14), Township 1 South
(T -1 -S), Range 12 West (R- 12 -W);
Thence easterly along the south line of Sections Fourteen (14) and
Thirteen (13), Township 1 South (T -1 -S), Range 12 West (R- 12 -W), to
the southeast corner of Section Thirteen (13), Township 1 South (T -1 -S),

Thence along a line common to Range 12 West (R -12 -W) and Range 11 West
(R- 11 -W), to the southwest corner of Section Eighteen (18), Township 1

Thence easterly along the south line of Sections Eighteen (18) and
Seventeen (17), Township 1 South (T -1 -S), Range 11 West (R- 11 -W), to
the southeast corner of the southwest one quarter (SW 1/4), of Section
Seventeen (17), Township 1 South (T -1 -S), Range 11 West (R- 11 -W);
Thence northerly along the east line of the west one half (W 1/2)
of Section Seventeen (17), to the southeast corner of the southwest
one quarter (SW 1/4), of Section Eight (8), Township 1 South (T -1 -S),
Range 11 West (R- 11 -W);
Thence easterly along the south line of Sections Eight (8), Nine (9),
Ten (10), and Eleven (11), Township 1 South (T -1 -S), Range 11 West
(R- 11 -W), to a point, said point being in the intersection of the
south line of Sections Eight (8), Nine (9), Ten (10) and Eleven (11),
Township 1 South (T -1 -S), Range 11 West (R- 11 -W), in the centerline
of the Arkansas River;
Thence north and west along the centerline of the Arkansas River to
the point of beginning.
SECTION III.. The territorial boundary line be described on the attached
map and the map be entitled, The "Planning Area Map" of the City of Little Rock.
SECTION IV. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage.
