12701I RESOLUTION NO. 12,701 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY TO USE BIODIESEL FUEL BLENDS IN 4 ITS HEAVY -DUTY DIESEL POWERED VEHICLES WHEN FINANCIALLY FEASIBLE; 5 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, domestically produced biodiesel can mitigate dependence on petroleum imported 8 from politically unstable regions of the world; and 9 WHEREAS, biodiesel blends can reduce harmful emissions; and 10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock desires to provide leadership in the use of biodiesel by 11 operating its heavy -duty diesel powered fleet vehicles on biodiesel blends, when financially feasible. 12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 13 ROCK, ARKANSAS: 14 Section 1. Diesel vehicles owned by the City are authorized to use biodiesel when financially 15 feasible as follows: 16 (a) Between the dates of October 1St- March 31St of each year, diesel vehicles will 17 operate on a minimum of B10 blend; 18 (b) Between the dates of April 1St - September 301h each year, diesel vehicles will 19 operate on a minimum B20 blend. 20 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 21 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 22 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain 23 in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not 24 originally a part of the resolution. 25 Section 3. Repealer.
