RESOLUTION NO. 12680
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT WITH
LINCOLN NATIONAL TO PROVIDE LONG -TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE
COVERAGE FOR NON - UNIFORM CITY EMPLOYEES FOR A TWO -YEAR PERIOD
EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2008; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, in response to the most recent Request for Proposal to provide tong -term disability
insurance coverage for non - uniform employees, Lincoln National was selected to provide such coverage
for a two -year period effective May 1, 2008, at a premium rate which is less than the current policy,
and
WHEREAS, analysis of the proposals received has shown that the proposal submitted by Lincoln
National provided the best combination of benefits and premium rates, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to contract with Standard Insurance Company to provide
tong -term disability insurance coverage for non - uniform City employees for a two -year period effective
May 1, 2008.
Section 2. Funds for the cost of the coverage is included as a line item in the 2008 City budget.
Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be
invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of
this resolution, which shalt remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged
invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution.
Section 4. Repeater. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
