A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TWO ADDITIONAL STREET
IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE 2004 BOND CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM INCLUDING A CONTRACT
MODIFICATION FOR AN EXTENSION OF THE FOURCHE DAM
PIKE FROM RICHLAND DR. TO THE FOURCHE CREEK
BRIDGE, AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL
WITH INTERSECTION MODIFICATIONS AT VIMY RIDGE
ROAD AND ALEXANDER ROAD.
WHEREAS, voters in 2003 voted to continue a long- assessed property tax for the
purpose of funding a Capital Improvement Program, and
WHEREAS, bonds were sold in 2004 to fund a list of designated street capital
improvement projects, and
WHEREAS, additional projects can be funded from remaining fund balances of
completed projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to initiate two (2) additional
improvement projects under the 2004 Bond Capital Improvement program to:
a. Modify the agreement between the City and AHTD for the construction of Fourche
Dam Pike Street & Drainage Improvements to include the section from Richland
Drive west to Fourche Creek bridge at an estimated cost of $340,000, and
b. To establish a new project to construct a traffic signal and intersection
modifications at Vimy Ridge Road and Alexander Road at an estimated cost of
$155,000.
SECTION 2. Funding for the (2) two projects is available from remaining fund
balances of 2004 Bond Capital Improvement funds for street improvements.
SECTION 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions
of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared
or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
SECTION 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of
such inconsistency.
SECTION 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
adoption.
