RESOLUTION NO. 12,637
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH CONWAY £t SCHULTE ARCHITECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
OF A MASTER PLAN FOR MACARTHUR PARK AND THE SURROUNDING AREA;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, MacArthur Park is the oldest park in the Little Rock Parks System, having been acquired
in 1895, and
WHEREAS, for the past two years, the MacArthur Park Group, a consortium of area residents,
developers, agencies and staff, has been developing ideas and raising funds for the improvement of the
park and the areas surrounding it, and
WHEREAS, a Request for Qualifications was published in October, 2007, and Conway Ft Schulte
Architects of Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been recommended for approval as consultants to perform
master plan services for the MacArthur Park and surrounding area, in an amount not to exceed One
Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) plus reimbursables.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
Conway Et Schulte Architects of Minneapolis, Minnesota, to perform master plan services for the
MacArthur Park and surrounding area, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thousand Dollars
($100,000.00) plus reimbursables.
Section 2. Funding for this project is available from the MacArthur Park Group.
Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain
in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not
originally a part of the resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
