3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH FLEET SAFETY EQUIPMENT, INC. FOR
5 THE PURCHASE OF POLICE MOBILE DATA COMPUTER SYSTEMS
6 FOR THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the Police Department is in the process of replacing and upgrading
10 their current date radio systems with new high -speed 700 Mhz data components to
11 enhance in -car capabilities, including wireless digital communications, and
12 WHEREAS, this upgrading includes replacing police cruiser in -car computer
13 systems with modern digital communication and computer technology, and
14 WHEREAS, pursuant to Bid No. 5301, Fleet Safety Equipment, Inc. submitted the
15 most responsible and responsive bid for twenty -six (26) Police Mobile Data Computer
16 Systems, in the amount of One Hundred Forty -eight Thousand, Seven Hundred Ninety -
17 five and 24/100 Dollars ($148,795.24);
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
21 into a contract with Fleet Safety Equipment, Inc. to provide twenty -six (26) Police
22 Mobile Data Computer Systems, in the amount of One Hundred Forty -eight Thousand,
23 Seven Hundred Ninety -five and 24/100 Dollars ($148,795.24);
24 Section 2. Funds for this contract are available from: 2003 LLEBG Grant Fund
25 totaling $49,847.24 (700- 350 -X047) and the 2004 COPS Technology Grant Fund totaling
26 $98,948 (700- 350 - X067).

1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
2 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
3 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
4 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
5 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
6 resolution.
7 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
8 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
9 of such inconsistency.
