3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF THE CONTRACT WITH NEW
4 FUTURES FOR YOUTH TO PROVIDE YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY, EVALUATION,
5 TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION SERVICES; AND FOR
6 OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention and
9 treatment services to enhance public safety, community - building, and youth development for Little
10 Rock residents; and
11 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark. Res. 12,439 (February 6, 2007) provided that the contract with New
12 Futures may be extended for two additional one -year terms based on their performance and Little
13 Rock Board of Directors appropriation.
14 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
15 ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the contract with New Futures for Youth for
17 one year to provide youth employability, technical assistance, and violence prevention services to
18 Little Rock residents.
19 Section 2. The term of the contract extension shall be from January 1, 2008 to December 31,
20 2008.
21 Section 3. Funding for this contract shall not exceed $220,000.00 and shall come from prevention,
22 intervention and treatment funds, account number SOOT494.
23 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be
24 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of
25 this resolution, which shall remaining full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged
26 invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution.
27 Section 5. Repealer. All resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any provision of
28 this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
