12542I 2 RESOLUTION NO. 12,542 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH TWO ORGANIZATIONS TO 5 PROVIDE YOUTH INITIATIVE PROGRAM (YIP) IN TARGETED 6 NEIGHBORHOODS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, 9 intervention, and youth development programs and services to enhance public safety 10 and community- building, and 11 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 7224 to solicit proposals for 12 Youth Initiative Programs in targeted neighborhoods for Little Rock youth, and 13 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted on 14 April 13, 2007, determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidders, and 15 recommends the organizations listed below for contract award based upon the 16 recommendation of the Commission on Children, Youth, and Families. 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. Contracts for YIP -Youth Initiative Programs are hereby awarded to 20 the following organizations: 21 1. LR Boys /Girls Clubs - thrasher (Female - Central) $58,959.00 22 2. Greater Second Care (male- Southwest) 53,165.00 23 TOTAL $112,124.00 24 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with these 25 organizations providing YIP -Youth Initiative Programs for targeted neighborhoods. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE- Little Rock tax 2 revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account 3 number SOOT458. 4 Section 4. The term of the contract is for one year, and may be extended for two 5 additional one -year terms upon appropriation, satisfactory performance and mutual 6 agreement of the parties. 7 Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or 8 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not 9 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and 10 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not 11 originally a part of this resolution. 12 Section 6. Repealer.
