117270 0 1 RESOLUTION NO. 111727 PJ 3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD AN ENGINEERING CONTRACT 4 TO GARVER ENGINEERS, LLC FOR DETAILED DESIGN AND 5 PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION PLANS, RIGHT -OF -WAY 6 AND EASEMENT ACQUISITION DOCUMENTS AND 7 ESTIMATES FOR CONSTRUCTING SOUTH LOOP BYPASS 8 FROM MABELVALE WEST ROAD TO ALEXANDER ROAD AS 9 AN ARTERIAL (2 -LANE) STREET; AND FOR OTHER 10 PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, detailed design and preparation of construction plans, right -of -way 13 and easement acquisition documents and estimates are needed for construction of the 14 South Loop Bypass from Mabelvale West Road and Alexander Road to improve safety, 15 access, and traffic flow, an 16 WHEREAS, funding for the project is available from an 80% grant from the 17 Federal Highway Administration and matching funds from the 1988 Bond Issue 301 18 220 0149, and 19 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock received engineering proposals (Bid Number 20 03 -261) and Garver Engineers, LLC was the most qualified selected bidder with a bid 21 of $270,600.00; 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 23 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award a contract and 25 execute an engineering agreement with Garver Engineers, LLC for detailed design and 26 preparation of construction plans, right -of -way and easement acquisition documents 0 0 1 and estimates for constructing South Loop Bypass from Mabelvale West Road to 2 Alexander Road as an arterial (2 -lane) street. 3 Section 2. Funding for the project is available from 80% grant from the Federal 4 Highway Administration and matching funds from the 1988 Bond Issue 3012220 0149, 5 with the amount for engineering being $297,660.00 ($270,600.00 plus 10% 6 contingencies). 7 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 8 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 9 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 10 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 11 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 12 resolution. 13 Section 4. Repealer.
